Entering Emojis and Special Symbols in Win10/Win11

Starting with Update 1709, Windows 10 has added an "Emoji Panel". You can use this panel to add a

variety of emojis, symbols, and even good old-fashion character art.

Emojis are simply Unicode characters, no different than letters, numbers and other familiar

characters  such as "%", "&", and others common keyboard based characters. It has been

somewhat difficult to enter emojis in TeleScript Software applications until now.

  1. To display the emoji panel, press <Windows Key + Period> or <Windows Key + Semicolon>;
  2. Use the mouse to make your emoji selection at the script insertion point.
  3. Once the emoji is entered, you can cut/paste, color, and edit just as you would text.

For a Rich Edit application such as TeleScript Software, the emojis are displayed as outlines. If you

enter emojis in your original document where they may appear in colors, then import that document

into TeleScript Software, the emojis will be displayed as outlines. You can apply foreground and

background colors just as you would for standard text. In addition, characters entered in this manner

can be assigned to KeyWord™.

Emojis are organized into several banks, or display pages. Most users of smart phones will already

be familiar with this layout. The attached .RTF TeleScript AV script shows examples of emojis as

they can be entered.
